Social Media Advocates

Our work in the field of social media marketing to students and young people is groundbreaking. We were the first specialist agency to use networks such as Facebook, Bebo and MySpace as integral media in our strategies.

Results are so consistently convincing that this became our biggest area of activity in 2008, with campaigns in current deployment for universities, start-ups and established youth brands.

In particular our advocate programmes have proved desirable and effective.

Advocate programmes see powerful, word-of-mouth marketing created with guaranteed and measurable effects. Forward-thinking clients have worked with us to target their message at specific, segmented audiences.

We manage programmes from start to finish, which involves planning, targeting and sourcing advocates, commissioning, managing, and tracking results.

Typically an advocate programme could reach 5,000 of your precise target audience (eg first year college students in a 20 mile radius of Manchester) using word-of-mouth channels - the most powerful form of marketing - for a cost of under £1,000.

Take theatre company Cameron Mackinotsh. We commissioned just six London students to promote their musical Avenue Q in a natural manner through Facebook (we did this by engaging them in the show and encouraging advocacy with reviews, group membership and friend-to-friend messaging). Read our case study to understand how this led to the creation of over ¼ million Avenue Q-related messages being propagated through Facebook - a social network that reaches over 80% of all university students in the UK.

We are also experienced developers and marketers of Facebook applications.
